School Assemblies
Matt
Wilhelm's school assembly program brings his X-Games medals, winning
tricks, and knowledge about bicycle safety and leading a drug-free
lifestyle to your students. In today's culture athletes are looked
at as "cool", and X-treme sports are considered cutting
edge. Matt has found a way to use these current trends to connect
with today's youth about important topics. Each performance is
customized to fit the appropriate ages and the message(s) you
desire:
- Bike Safety
- Bullying
- Drug Awareness
- Perseverance
- Healthy Living
- Character
Counts
After
finishing in last place at his first X-Games, Matt refused to give
up and rose to win X-Games Medals in the USA, Brazil, and Korea.
By letting the students view these medals up close, they serve as
a concrete example of his perseverance. He won many of these competitions
while attending Millikin University on a music scholarship, where
he graduated Magna Cum Laude. Matt tells students, “You can
be good at sports, music, and do well in school, as long as you
try hard and do not give up.”
In
addition to Matt’s success story, students will also take
away information on bicycle safety, healthy living, drug awareness,
character counts, and goal setting. Each show covers three age appropriate
topics. "These are great messages Matt... You have a nice way
of communicating, and you relate really well to kids," said
host Leeza Gibbons during Matt's appearance on "Leeza Live."
The kids will be amazed by the tricks and inspired by the message.
